In early 2018, I worked with BMW and The Department as a Content Producer on the BMW BBS Hologram Show in Munich, an ambitious project combining live performance with cutting-edge holographic technology.
My role involved project-managing the content creation process, working closely with creative studios and external suppliers. I carried out extensive research and sourced archival material to ensure the final visuals were both impactful and aligned with the brand's story.
On the technical side, I supported complex show elements like timecode synchronisation, automation sequences and precision car movements. The car itself was mounted on a robotic platform that let it race the hologram around the stage, with a live actor interacting with the projection in real time. Coordinating all of that during rehearsals took close collaboration with engineering teams and a sharp focus on detail.
A genuine push at the limits of live production, with high-spec tech and creative storytelling each holding up their end.
