In 2018, I worked on the BBC's Biggest Weekend, the largest multi-site event the BBC had ever delivered. My role focused on solving one of the biggest technical challenges: how to live-edit performances across all stages in real time while ensuring a seamless online broadcast experience. That meant designing a robust infrastructure, refining our live workflows and making sure everything held up under the pressure of a fast-moving festival environment.
I also scheduled and supported a team of over 100 people across the four sites, making sure we had agile, responsive crews ready to adapt as the show unfolded.
Twelve stages across Belfast, Coventry, Perth and Swansea, all going live across the same weekend. The team kept using the live-edit setup we built for it on later projects.
