Each city came with its own challenges: unreliable internet, rolling blackouts, tight timelines, unpredictable venues. Lusaka meant installing generators at local cellular masts to keep the connection alive during outages. Nairobi threw us the biggest rain storm I've ever seen, and we rebuilt the plan around it. Amsterdam pushed in a different direction, expanding the format to programme music and performance into the days, not just stage talks.
Staying online was only half the job. The harder bit was making people joining remotely feel like they were part of what was happening in the room. None of it worked without local teams who knew their venues and audiences far better than I ever could.
